Tiivistelmä: | The article investigates Nordic management styles in both union and non-union companies in the Baltic States of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. Case studies of nine Nordic subsidiaries in these countries are conducted and analyzed to determine the nature of Nordic management model. The results suggest that the Nordic management style can be characterized as "bargained constitutional" or "sophisticated consultative" according to Purcell and Ahlstrand's matrix of management styles in highly unionized countries of origin. However, in Baltic market environment Nordic employees use a variety of different management styles depending on whether the subsidiaries are unionized or not. |
