| Tiivistelmä: | The article studies pilgrimage, one of the oldest forms of population mobility. The focus of the study is on finding the key arguments and conceptualizations in studies of pilgrimage to discover how it has changed over the time. The results of the study indicate that a postmodern approach has been adopted in the study of pilgrimage. The boundary between tourism and pilgrimage has become less clear as two terms of secular pilgrimage and religious pilgrimage have emerged. |
