Tiivistelmä:The framework of fast-and-frugal heuristics assumes that noncompensatory tools for human preferences and inferences predict choice behavior and model the cognitive processes underneath it. This article compares the predictions of these heuristics with predictions from compensatory models. The results of the study reveal that people tend to integrate all the information received into their choice preferences rather than relying on limited arguments only. The authors claim that the fast-and-frugal heuristics is thus not always applicable, let alone does it model the underlying processes in choice behavior. According to the article, integrative model of choice behavior is better suitable for these predictions.
