Tiivistelmä: | Given the challenge companies face in combining organizations in the merger and acquisition (M&A) process, this paper presents a model that examines the potential determinants of success in the company blending process. The effect of employee-level factors and perceptions of managerial behaviors during the M&A process is explored. The study bases on data of 254 employees which have recently gone through an M&A. Both direct and indirect effects on employee-level dynamics are investigated. It is found that employees who have strongly identified with the new, consolidated organization may experience higher levels of job satisfaction. Thus, practitioners should minimize cultural discontinuity between M&A partners, and maintain fair management practices during the M&A process. |
