Tiivistelmä:This study deals with full-time workers' assumptions and understanding of part-time work against six job quality components from recent literature. 40 interviews were performed with employees in an Australian public sector agency. Despite strong collective bargaining arrangements and substantial legal and industrial obligations, for part-time job quality there are uncovered some serious concerns, that is, reduced responsibilities and lesser access to high status roles and projects, to promotion opportunities, increased work intensity and poor workplace support. The mostly gendered, part-time labour market also means of women being disproportionately experiencing this disadvantage. In order to promote equity, there is the need to focus on monitoring and enhancing job quality, regardless of worked hours.
