| Tiivistelmä: | The paper investigates the effect of power of chief executive officer(CEO) and chairman on firm risk in Spain. Chairman and CEO's decisions have an important role in attaining shareholders' objectives. Therefore, decisions relative to both posts are very relevant from the human resources management perspective. According to research, a positive relation between firm risk and combining in the same person the positions of CEO and chairman can be observed. Furthermore, a positive relation between firm risk and the status of both leaders as the founding partners, and a negative relation between firm risk and board size are detected. |
