| Tiivistelmä: | Using the Eurobarometer (EB) 62.2 (N=27,000) performed in autumn 2004, this study deals with the relationship btw. social stratification and social capital over 27 European countries. Utilizing of statistical modelling, it is possible to determine the extent to which individual characteristics, incl. education and occupational position are linked with different measures of social capital and to set this within a cross-national context. Among others, it is found that social stratification is an important element in understanding social capital at the levels of a country and an individual. |
