| Tiivistelmä: | This paper resolves the contradictory predictions of performance feedback theory and threat rigidity theory by presuming of small and large firms having distinct responses to performance due to differences in risk aversion and internal rigidity. To examine these differences, there is the need to distinguish risk taking from rigidity in the strategic position. The predicted interactions of firm size and performance are supported through an analysis of data from the shipping industry. |
