| Tiivistelmä: | Herein, an economic and ethical analysis is performed on wealth and income inequality. Through gaining knowledge of the nature of inequality, and bringing basic economic principles, an understanding can be reached on the causal relationship btw. inequality and economic progress. Moreover, a new theory of ethics, that is, rational egoism, is applied in order to assess economic inequality. It is shown that, in the right context, economic inequality is both economically and morally desirable. |
