| Tiivistelmä: | For franchisors, adaptation of the strategies of the franchise systems to new threats and opportunities is a key challenge. It is important that franchisees trust their franchisors during strategic change processes (SCPs) and that they see the change process as fair. This article aims at generating theory on franchisees' perceptions of trust and fairness (here as: t-and-f.) during SCPs. Based on case studies including eight change processes in four Dutch drugstore franchise systems, this article distinguishes different levels of franchisee trust, dealing with five instruments for franchisors to "institutionalize" in their franchise systems in order to influence their franchisees' perceptions of t-and-f. |
