Tiivistelmä:Trust has been identified as a main ingredient to the prosperity of close relationships, organizations, and societies. Two experiments explored the how and when of this assessment. It is suggested that antecedents may be integrated both as content information per se (as generally assumed) and also in a feeling-based summary form. Particularly, the results show that the ease or difficulty associated with the identification of antecedents to trust may guide trustful behaviour. Moreover, it is shown that such a feeling-based influence is especially probable to occur in conditions of personal certainty. These results extend prior research in the domains of trust and economic games, attesting further to the fundamental role of cognitive feelings playing in social life.
