| Tiivistelmä: | In this study, employee records and interviews are employed to explain the reasons why employees do and do not participate in Sharesave schemes in three companies in the British retail sector. The interpretivist approach of this study brings out the direct views of employees emphasizing equally non-participants' views and participants' views. The benefits of such schemes asserted by Government and employers are not found to have an influence on participation. Employees experienced such schemes as a simple way to save. Non-participation was mainly because of the employee not expecting to stay in the company. |
