| Tiivistelmä: | This paper describes a study of host communities' views toward gay (herein as: g- ) tourists in a small Mexican beach destination. The village is popular with g-tourists and also with heterosexual visitors, being known for nude bathing and drug consumption. Interviews were performed with a number of residents, uncovering disapproval of the g-tourists. This was attributed by residents to obvious sexual behaviour, and although there was no evident homophobia, the attitudes are postulated to originate from this. |
