Tiivistelmä:This article features a study on neural correlates of compulsive buying. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, 49 subjects, 26 non-compulsive and 23 compulsive buyers, had their reactions to purchasing situations measured. Significant differences in brain activity in regions known to be involved in decision making were found between the two types of subjects. The results give important information regarding the nature of compulsive buying that can used in implications regarding consumer policy.
