Tiivistelmä:In this article, two measurements of project alliances are classified: formal and emergent operating practices. The study of 166 project alliances analyses the innovation performance influence of those practices. It is found that emergent operating practices improve planned and accidental innovation regardless of a firm's size. Company's size moderates the influence of formal operating practices. Findings indicate that small firms can improve their innovation performance by formal operating practices. Instead, large firms will encounter lower performance on planned innovation when executing formal operating practices.
