| Tiivistelmä: | This article analyses the situation of Denmark in the Cobden-Chevalier network of bilateral treaties in the latter half of the nineteenth century. With the aid of a study on the structure of Danish trade and protection, contrary to popular belief, it is shown that Denmark remaining outside the network was a sensible choice. |
