Tiivistelmä: | Having time constraints and the need to compete and communicate globally, firms have engaged in mergers and acquisitions (M&As) to accomplish various objectives, including increasing growth potential and expanding product lines. The aim of this case study is to explore the literature in the area of M&As from a knowledge perspective, given knowledge's vital role in M&A, and to inspect the knowledge variable in the local Hellenic Post-Merger Integration (PMI) of the Bayer acquisition: the Roche Consumer Health division. The study focuses on whether the stakeholders think one specific factor, namely knowledge transfer, having helped them to create one high-performance body, and, if so, what were the most substantial experiences leading to this. The results of the research provide a better understanding of knowledge transfer's key drivers in a PMI. The essential factors (macro and micro) encourage or discourage knowledge transfer in integrating organizations. The evaluation took place approximately six months after the contractual acquisition completion and was based on the management and co-workers' assessment of how integration at the Greek Bayer company had gone. The Orton case study was developed to complement to the theoretical framework on M&A's intangible synergies. |
