Tiivistelmä: | Using data from recent media discussion about corporate governance in Germany, this article mainly seeks to explore the changing nature of narratives in the mass media about both organizations and their managers. The article rebuilds two different narratives of corporate governance and the process of their change of nature. The article extends the Greimasian approach in two ways to increase the understanding of narrative shift. Firstly, the two-way relationship between narrative change and the wider economic context is highlighted. Secondly, the article points to structural states of the narratives in relation to narrative change and establishes typical semantic figures as indicators of change. |
