Tiivistelmä:We propose that corporate directors play a great role in helping organizations deal with two major stakeholder issues. Directors can help manage the interests of organizational stakeholders, and also, they assist to protect the interests of their organizations as stakeholders in society. Their contribution is conceptualized as the directors' roles in corporate social responsibility (DR-CSR). We identify two types of DR-CSR, namely organization-centered and society-centered roles. Based on a study about 120 corporate directors, it is observed that the more concern corporate directors have for stakeholders, the more likely they will perform their DR-CSR effectively.
