Tiivistelmä: | The study discusses markets and central planning as alternative mechanisms for controlling economic activity within firms and economies and hypothesizes how executives of different nationalities understand the coordinating characteristics of markets and planning. The results showed that German and U.S. executives share a similar cognitive structure, differing from Japanese executives which reflects a more collectivistic culture. The study emphasized the importance of testing behavioral assumptions and culture as moderator of them. |
