Tiivistelmä:Drawing on the configuration literature, it is argued that the capitalizing of different value creation strategies demands different and specific organizational structures, processes and implementation capabilities, and therefore firm acquirers may be more successful if they use a single value creation strategy. This is tested within a sample of 130 horizontal European acquisitions and it is found that those which used a single value creating strategy performed significantly better than those which employed both reconfiguration and leverage simultaneously.
