| Tiivistelmä: | This article examines how communication executives perceive their internal and external legitimacy, how they reflect on recent developments in their work and what important future challenges they perceive. The study relies on in-depth interviews with communication executives. The findings reveal that executive role appears to involve three different roles: the organizational leader, the communication leader and the communication manager. It is found that executives perceived high external legitimacy while internal legitimacy varied between organization. In addition, communication technology development has affected executives work. Globalization and organizational change are seen challenges in the future. |
