Tiivistelmä:Tourists can develop attachment to a destination resulting from its ability to fulfill specific goals or activity needs and/or from its symbolic meaning. Hence, attachment could be an essential measure of tourist satisfaction and loyalty. Despite its significance, only little research has been done to determine the likely effects of emotional associations or meanings tourists attach to the places they visit on their satisfaction and future behavior. Therefore, we explore the role of attachment in forecasting satisfactory holiday experiences and destination loyalty. Outcomes of the structural equation modeling indicate that positive emotional and cognitive bonds with a place could indeed impact an individual's critical evaluation of a destination and his/her loyalty to the place. Implications of the article are also discussed.
