Tiivistelmä:This article employs network data of worker behavior to examine changes in employee communication patterns during the first three years post-acquisition. The results propose that new communication patterns evolve slowly and aren't solely permanent even when a transformative event, like an acquisition, happens. Communication across companies initially increases as workers change their routines. Nevertheless, over time this communication peaks and then falls as employees develop common ground. Communication across companies was greater when employees' tasks were interdependent. Overall, this research indicates that communication routines continue even after an organizationally transforming event.
