| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims to portray organizational creativity as embedded in heterarchies instead of hierarchies or homoarchies. Drawing upon the case of visual effects (VFX) production, heterarchies with multilayered, overlapping and incongruent organizational forms are demonstrated to create a potential for organizational creativity that is activated through a specific institutional arrangement of diversity. The article verifies that analytically concentrating on the properties of heterarchies can be a useful way of conceptualizing context complexity as a resource, not a barrier, for organizational creativity. |
