Tiivistelmä:Based on a convenience sample of 260 employees, the study shows how employees' perceptions (hereafter as: prcps.) about corporate citizenship (CC) predict their affective commitment (as: a-cmt). The study was conducted in Portugal, a high in-group and low societal collectivistic culture.
The main findings as follows: a. the discretionary (as: dscry.) dimension includes two factors: CC toward employees and toward community, b. prcps. of CC explain 35 percent of unique variance of a-cmt., c. the best predictors are prcps. of economic and legal CC and, mainly, prcps. dscry. CC toward employees, d. the prcps. of dscry. CC toward employees are notably better predictors of a-cmt. than are prcps. of economic, ethical, and dscry. CC toward the community, e. perceived inconsistency of the several CC dimensions is detrimental to employees' a-cmt.
