Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of the article is to review and synthesize prior research on consumer sosialization of children, which, according to the authors, is a framework that helps in understanding how parents influence children with respect to advertising. The role of parents as consumer sosialization agents, and the moderating role of parental styles is examined. One parental style, "authoritatives", seems to be more connected to the consumer socialization of children than others. The authors further review the research on how parental styles actually influence children. Possible future research avenues regarding the parental style framework are proposed. |
