Tiivistelmä:For organizational scientists, examination of psychological processes underlying unethical behavior among employees has become an important area of research with the eruption of recent corporate scandals. This paper attempts to uncover the reasons behind people engaging in deceptive and dishonest activities. The focus is on the use of moral-disengagement tactics or rationalizations to justify glaringly dishonest actions at work. Two studies were performed, a lab simulation and field survey, and they confirmed the hypotheses concerning moral disengagement, participation, and unethical behavior.
