| Tiivistelmä: | This article examines the relationship between corporate governance and risk management of high technology firms. Publicly listed Australian biotechnology companies are used as an example, and the article presents a governance structure that aids such companies in managing the many complex risks they confront. Conventionally audit committees are responsible for risk management relating to financial reporting and the article argues that an additional risk management committee may be needed. Evidence that the conventional governance model is inadequate in the complex business world of today is provided. |
