Tiivistelmä:This paper aims to explore how knowledge management (KM) practices are performed in learning organizations (herein as: orgs.), seeking to find out: how learning orgs. perform KM practices, and whether there are any specific KM attributes differentiating high learning orgs. from low learning ones. The research is carried out in two information technology (IT) orgs. Using the grounded theory approach, qualitative data from these two orgs. are analysed. There are four themes of KM process emerging after the data were subjected to grounded theory analysis: i. knowledge (as: knwl.) creation, ii. knwl. sharing, iii. knwl. up-gradation, and iv. knwl. retention. The two sample orgs. were compared on these dimensions. There are two concepts emerging from this comparison, that is, knwl. enablers and inhibitors.
