Tiivistelmä: | Rational decision making guided by an ethical approach is needed when leading a company through a crisis. There are three ethical approaches: i. virtue ethics, ii. an ethic of justice, and iii. an ethic of care. This article deals with the effectiveness of these approaches for leading a corporation after a crisis. The standard used herein is drawn from recent studies examining how people tend to react to corporate unintentional harms. Based on these studies it is concluded that an ethic of care approach is most effective for managing corporate crises when it comes to stakeholder concerns. It is concluded with strategies for managing a crisis using an ethic of care. |
