| Tiivistelmä: | This paper examines the validity of web-based surveys. An online questionnaire was sent to members of tourism research and travel-related virtual communities. Extremely low opening and response rates were found, leading to biased samples. Many possible explanations for the results with practical recommendations were given for web-based survey implementation. |
