Tiivistelmä:The success or failure of a consultant's report is not determined by its ability to present data and solve problems but its persuasiveness, its acceptability to the dominant organizational culture, its value for money as a performance and its ability to generate present and future agreement. The consultant's analysis of the organization can never be complete since although significant "cultures" may be uncovered, subcultures may yet remain hidden. The consultant must take into consideration who should read the report and which of the managerial groups will then decide. Case examples illustrate the potential problems. It is possible for the introspective consultant to be thought successful by all parties but himself.
