Tiivistelmä:The technico-economic changes of the past decade including new technologies, reduction in growth, evolutions in the legislative framework have increased the need for rapid adaptation of the human resource function within the company. The reasons for the growth in the importance of this function and also its current identity crisis are analysed. Contradictions and conflicts still existing between the demands of the organization and the search by professionals for an identity linked to notion of "specialist" are discussed. The key issue for the executives is the adaptation of strategic resources which enable them to establish an action scheme in relation to those holding responsible functions in the company.
