You can read theses on the Learning Centre customer computers, which are available on all floors.

Logging on to the customer computers

  • Aalto University staff members log on to the customer computer using the Aalto username and password.
  • Other customers log on using a shared username and password.

Opening a thesis

  • On the desktop of the customer computers, you will find an icon titled:

    Aalto Thesis Database

  • Click on the icon to search for and open the thesis you are looking for from Aaltodoc database. You can find the thesis file by clicking the link on the OEV or OEVS field.

Reading the thesis

  • You can either print the thesis or read it on the customer computer screen.
  • You cannot save the thesis file on a flash drive or email it.
  • You cannot copy text or images from the file.
  • You cannot edit the file.

Printing the thesis

  • You can print the thesis for your personal study or research use.
  • Aalto University students and staff members may print black-and-white prints on the PrintingPoint devices when using the computer with personal Aalto username and password. Color printing is possible using the printer u90203-psc3, which is located near the customer service. Color printing is subject to a charge to Aalto University students and staff members.
  • Other customers can use the printer u90203-psc3. All printing is subject to a charge to non-University members.

Abstract (eng):The guidance of project planning is an essential part in project implementing.
A document called facility program - an instrument in guidance of project planning - has provided way to define project's content, aims and expense limitations in facility projects.
Also in infra projects there has been developed corresponding proceeding, which however has not included dimensioning information and requirements concerning work breakdown elements (WBS).
This research aims to specify project program - document, especially its function in guidance of project planning, the contentual definitions of document and the process of the project program preparation.

Expense guidance of projects is based on established program concerning project's scale and quality level, which are also foundation pilars for evaluation expense limitations.
The scale and the level of quality are determined by subscriber and therefore they are customer's view of end product.
Program creates objectives for the project, when financial control is the matter of management.
The guidance of planning is mainly making decisions by means of management by objectives.
It is extremely important in the preparation of the project program, that operations' needs are analyzed, requirements for needs are determined as well as desired quality level.
Before the program can be defined project's vision and strategy needs to be outlined.
Due to vision and strategy the goals are consisted in compact and understandable document.

The definitions of project program needs to enable several optional planning solutions.
The scale is defined as WBS, which are fitted according to function and level of quality requirements.
Feasibility for construction related to project location, built environment, terrain and frames created by protection of the environment effect on the level of quality.
Circumstances analysis and classification is a crucial part in preparation of infra project's project program.
The definitions in project program are clarified during the planning process.

The project program and its preparation process bring new elements which enhance the guidance of planning.
The will of subscriber is seen in the project's content and the project can be managed by target-oriented decision making.
For project parties, the project program is a central source of information and project's decision making stages are documented through the process.
Therefore the productiveness of planning will enhance, when planning inputs are concentrated on target-oriented goals.
Abstract (fin):Hankkeen suunnittelun ohjaus on keskeinen hankkeen läpiviennin työvaihe.
Tilahankkeissa suunnittelun ohjauksen työkaluna on ollut käytössä tilaohjelmaksi nimetty asiakirja, jolla hankkeen sisältö, tavoitteet ja kustannuspuite on määritelty.
Infrahankkeiden kustannusohjauksessa on kehitetty vastaava hankeohjelman nimellä kulkeva menettely, josta on puuttunut hankeosia koskevat mitoitustiedot ja vaatimukset.
Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena on ollut täsmentää hankeohjelma-asiakirjaa: sen tehtävää suunnittelunohjuksessa, asiakirjan sisällöllisiä määrittelyjä ja koko hankeohjelman laatimisen prosessia.

Hankkeiden kustannusten ohjaus perustuu laadittuun ohjelmaan hankkeen laajuudesta ja laatutasosta, jotka ovat perusteina hankkeen kustannuspuitteen arvioinnille.
Hankkeen laajuus ja laatutaso ovat tilaajan määrittelemiä ja näin ollen tilaajan näkemys lopputuotteesta.
Ohjelma luo tavoitteet hankkeelle, jolloin talouden hallinta on johtamiskysymys.
Suunnittelun ohjaus on päätösten tekoa tavoitejohtamisen keinoin.
Hankeohjelman laatimisessa on tärkeätä, että analysoidaan toiminnan edellyttämät tarpeet, tarpeille määritellään vaatimukset ja haluttu laatutaso.
Ennen kuin ohjelmaa on mahdollista määrittää, tulee hahmottaa hankkeen visio ja strategia.
Näiden kautta muodostuu tavoitteet, jotka kirjataan rakennusalan kielelle tiiviiksi ja ymmärrettäväksi asiakirjaksi.

Hankeohjelman määrittelyjen tulee mahdollistaa useita vaihtoehtoisia suunnitteluratkaisuja.
Laajuus määritellään hankeosina, jotka mitoitetaan toimivuus- ja palvelutasovaatimusten mukaan.
Laatutasoon vaikuttaa hankkeen sijaintiin sidoksissa olevat rakennettavuuden, rakennetun ympäristön ja maaston sekä ympäristön suojelun luomat puitteet.
Olosuhteiden analysointi ja luokitus on keskeinen infrahankkeen hankeohjelman laatimisen osa.
Hankeohjelman määrittelyt täsmentyvät suunnittelun edetessä.

Hankeohjelma ja sen laatimisprosessi tuo suunnittelun ohjaukseen uusia, prosessia tehostavia elementtejä.
Tilaajan tahto näkyy hankkeen sisällössä ja hanketta on mahdollista johtaa tavoitteellisella päätöksenteolla.
Hankkeen osallisille hankeohjelma on keskeinen tietolähde.
Hankkeen päätöksentekovaiheet dokumentoituvat prosessin kautta ja suunnittelun tuottavuus paranee suunnittelupanosten kohdistuessa päämäärälähtöisiin tavoitteisiin.
