Abstract (eng): | Logistics has a part in almost every activity in a production chain. Adding customer satisfaction and business value is done by improving all the activities surrounding the concept. To verify the possibility of a fast service for spare part packages and spares the items requiring long manufacturing times should be stockpiled. The design of the packing and storing of these parts and packages should also complement the idea behind machine service and support. This thesis is an investigation into the logistics of spare part packages for synchronous generators and the related activities affecting the details of spare part sales. The spare part packages are designed to help the customer maintain functionality of the machines in emergency cases. Fast and precise delivery of spare part packages are still needed and to keep up with the growing demand. An investigation into the business of spare part packages for synchronous machines reveals a lack of action taken to secure the availability of these packages. There has to be made changes concerning the warehouse and inventory as well as changes to the key concepts regarding the sales and design of packages to improve customer knowledge of the added value and benefits. The study shows a lack of design in the warehouse inventory selection. The inventory should be changed to minimize the extra costs made by the added value of suggested number of packages and parts to the storage. |
