Abstract: | Properly designed environmental regulations can spur innovation and make companies more competitive. The authors of this article show how innovative companies have already responded to regulation in ways that have often lowered product cost or improved product value. In learning to use their inputs more productivity, such companies have fostered a new kind of competitive edge: resource productivity. |
