Tiivistelmä (eng): My Master's thesis is based on the Finnish Pentecostal church Finska Filadeifia in Stockholm.
It has been a plan of the church to buy a building of its own but so far this has not materialized.
The idea of the topic came from the needs the church have.
My aim was to pian a church that would not only fill the needs of the church but also give it possibilities to expand both functionally and in size.

The Finska Filadelfia has functioned in the Stockholm area since 1953 and they have had several hired premises around Stockholm.
Their current one is situated in Västberga approximately five kilometres from the centre of Stockholm.
The church has apx 550 members and the average age is 55.
Besides a couple of meetings each week there are many other functions in the church such as choirs, missionary work, camps and different events.

The building site is Iocated in the Södermalm district in Stockholm, near the south shore of Lake Mälaren.
The site is situated between the streets Söder Mälarstrand and Heleneborsgatan.
The highest point on the site is at over /28.5 meters on a rock named Pålsundsberget.
The rock is a part of a park founded at the beginning of the 20th century along the shore of Lake Mälaren.
The street Heleneborgsgatan is in a depression between the rock and a building block on its south side.

The church building is Iocated in the upper part of the rock between the road and the cIiff so that the park below remains untouched.
The building is partly inside the rock on three levels with an entrance from Heleneborgsgatan.
The church building consists of different square shaped combinations of rooms and the space in between serve as entrance halls and a Iobby.
From the entrance hall you can see the lake and the Kungsholmen district on the other shore.
To the west from the entrance is the church hall.
It has a sloped floor and the podium and altar is located one floor down.
Two of the church hall's wails consist of solid rock and the front wall has a glass facade above it from where you can see the lake.
On the other side of the entrance hall is the kitchen with a café and one floor down are a sauna department and a bigger hall for e.g. meetings, festivities and sports.
On the upper floor there are teaching rooms, offices and sleeping accommodations for visitors.
The church building is designed so that the different parts can be separated and function on their own.
In these situations a side entrance serves as an entrance to the east part of the building and the access to the staircase in the center of the building is managed with access control.
