Abstract (eng): Cellular systems have experienced a dramatic development over the past fifteen years.
However, due to the random nature of traffic and the inherent "elasticity" of data transfers in cellular systems, few models have been explored about the user performance for wireless data channel.
Some notable exceptions are the recent works by Borst for CDMA/HDR systems [11], and by Bonald and Proutiére for cellular systems with Poissonian arrivals and infinite user population [4,8].

In practice the user population in the real system cannot be infinite.
This thesis develops two models with finite user population: the OCOF model and the OCMF model, in which a customer can transmit one flow or multiple flows at the same time, respectively.
Arrival rate in the OCOF model is not Poissonian while the OCMF model allows a Poissonian arrival rate.
In fact, the OCMF model is an intermediate model between the OCOF model and the model by Bonald et al. and the model by Bonald et al. can be regarded as a limit case of the OCOF and OCMF models when the number of users tends to infinity.

We identify two limit regimes, quasi-stationary and fluid, where the motion of the customers occurs on an infinitely slow and an infinitely fast time scale, respectively.
Using queueing network theory, the average throughputs of the system in the two regimes are evaluated.
The differences between the models are compared by a set of numerical examples.
