Abstract (eng): Effective use of new performance spaces demand for variable solutions of the acoustics in order to ensure suitable conditions for all user groups.
The main methods of achieving variability of the acoustics of performance spaces are changing the amount of absorption, volume and the layout of the space.

This work studied the performance of variable acoustics in two performance spaces by measuring a set of commonly used room acoustical parameters.
The halls were measured in four different configurations of the variable acoustics in order to compare how the different methods are performing.

The measurements show that reverberation time can be changed considerably using variable absorption.
However it is difficult to maintain a neutral spectral balance in ail configurations of the variable acoustics when large amount of change is used.
Abstract (fin): Uusien auditorioiden tehokas käyttö vaatii muunneltavia ratkaisuja kaikkien käyttäjäryhmien vaatimusten täyttymiseen.
Akustiikan muunteluun konserttisaleissa käytettävät menetelmät voidaan jakaa vaimennuksen määrän, tilavuuden määrän ja tilan järjestyksen muunteluun.

Tämä työ tutkii muunneltavan akustiikan tehokkuutta kahdessa muunneltavassa salissa huoneakustiikan kuvaamiseen yleisesti käytettäviä suureita tarkastelemalla.
Salit mitattiin neljässä eri muunneltavan akustiikan konfiguraatiossa.

Mittaukset osoittavat että varsinkin jälkikaiunta-aikaa voidaan muunnella hyvin paljon vaimennuksen määrää muuntamalla.
Kuitenkin käyttämällä suurta määrää muunneltavuutta on haastavaa säilyttää koko tarkasteltavalla taajuuskaistalla tasapainoinen tulos.
