Abstract (eng): | The Internet of Things can be utilized in healthcare to treat and to prevent disease. However, public healthcare might only have enough resources to offer suitable devices to those who require immediate treatment. Utilizing devices that consumers own would allow healthcare personnel to prevent disease in healthy individuals. A system that connects consumer level smart devices to a healthcare information system was developed in this thesis. A group of simulated devices offers data in the O-DF format (Open Data Format). The data is sent over the O-MI (Open Messaging Interface) protocol to a transformer that translates it to the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard, which is used in healthcare information systems. The main problems discovered during the implementation were choosing how to represent health data in the O-DF format and how to map O-DF fields to their corresponding FHIR fields. To implement the system for production use, the relevant standards would have to become more widespread or middleware to translate device specific data to the O-DF format would have to be developed. |
Abstract (fin): | Esineiden internetiä voidaan hyödyntää terveydenhuollossa sairauksien hoitoon ja ennaltaehkäisyyn. Joukko simuloituja laitteita tarjosi dataa O-DF-muodossa (Open Data Format). Data siirrettiin O-MI-protokollalla (Open Messaging Interface) muuntimelle, joka käänsi sen terveydenhuollossa käytettävän FHIR-standardin (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) mukaiseen muotoon. Suurimmat havaitut ongelmat liittyivät O-DF-datan esitysmuodon valintaan ja datakenttien vastaavuuksien tunnistamiseen O-DF ja FHIR-muodoissa. Järjestelmän toteuttaminen tuotantokäyttöön vaatisi käytettyjen standardien yleistymistä tai laitekohtaisten datamuunnoksen tekevien väliohjelmistojen kehitystä. |
