Abstract (eng): | Mass production of mobile phones requires significant amounts of programming, alignment and test activities before a product is delivered to the customer. The purpose is to add functionality to the product, optimize its performance, and monitor the production process and to ensure that products meet the quality expectations of the end user. This study was carried out in order to define how the next generation production test systems should be built so that the requirements are met with optimal total cost of ownership. The results include proposals for new electrical and mechanical interface standards which shall be taken into use in designing new systems. Functionality of modules and instruments has been defined and an example test system architecture design has been included. The new mechanical standard size of an instrument is proposed to be one quarter of existing 19" rack standard instrument width. The electrical connection interface standard proposals for instruments are an Ethernet connection for instrument control and a DC operating voltage connection. |
Abstract (fin): | Matkapuhelinten massatuotanto vaatii lukuisia ohjelmointi-, viritys- ja testaustoimintoja ennen kun tuote on valmis luovutettavaksi asiakkaalle. Uusi ehdotus mittalaitteiden standardileveydeksi on yksi neljäsosa nykyisen 19" räkkistandardin määrittelemästä mittalaitteen leveydestä. |
