Abstract (eng): | Mobile devices have been developing fast during the past years and they have become sophisticated communication and multimedia devices with broadband Internet connection. Fast growth of Internet and illegal distribution of intellectual property rights-protected content in peer-to-peer networks has raised a need for a legal, reasonably prized and easy to use digital media content distribution system. This Master's Thesis "Distributed Sharing of Digital Content to Mobile Devices" studies the requirements of such system and describe a content protected digital media distribution system that allows content providers to distribute digital content to customers, and further, customers to share that content from device to device. This paper presents a suggestion for a system implementation for a WLAN-environment and a structure of background system that is needed for content distribution and for controlling content use rights and payment actions. To deepen the study a computer program was implemented to compare push and hybrid media distribution methods. The test results of the comparison are presented in this thesis. |
