Abstract (eng): | In this thesis PI and LQG controllers were designed to control the scanning movement of a prototype mammography device. These controllers were then compared. The purpose of this comparison was to serve as a basis for choosing the controller type for the next version of the mammography device. Because of the low processing speed of the prototype only the PI controllers were tested in practice. The testing of the LQG controllers and the comparison between controller types was made using simulations. The tube head moves vertically and rotationally. Separate control circuits were designed for each movement. The control circuits were designed to he cascade control circuits in which the inner controller controls the current of the motor and the outer controller controls the speed of the tube head. For the purpose of designing and testing the controllers, the dynamics of the scanning movement of the mammography device were identified using the prediction error method. Identification was carried out separately for each controller. Identification was made based on data measured from scanning the movement of the tube head. Data was measured via the Controller Area Network using random and wheep input signals and, for the purpose of validation, also using step input signals. Validation showed that the identified models turned out to match well with reality. PI controllers were designed using the oscillation boundary method. LQG controllers were designed by adding extra states, representing the integral of the difference between reference and response values, into the process models because basic LQG controllers are only used for regulation purposes. In comparison to the designed P1 controllers the designed LQG controllers turned out to be somewhat faster based on the simulations. |
Abstract (fin): | Tässä työssä kehitettiin PI- ja Lag-säätimet mammografialaitteen prototyypin kuvauspään liikkeen säätöön, ja säädintyyppejä vertailtiin keskenään. Vertailun tarkoituksena on toimia pohjatietona mammografialaitteen uuden version säädintyypin valinnassa. Mallinnukset onnistuivat validointien perusteella suhteellisen hyvin. PI-säätimet suunniteltiin värähtelyrajamenetelmää apuna käyttäen. LQG-säätimet suunniteltiin lisäämällä prosessien malleihin ylimääräiset, asetusarvon ja vasteen erotuksen integraalia kuvaavat tilat, koska perusmuotoisena LQG-säädin toimii ainoastaan regulointisäädössä. Suunnitelluista säätimistä LQG-säätimet ovat simulointien perusteella kaikkien säädettävien suureiden osalta hieman PI- säätimiä nopeampia. |
