Abstract (eng): The 110 kV subtransmission network in Helsinki includes cables and overhead lines.
Because the local electricity production and consumption vary greatly depending on season, the magnitude and direction of power transfer also varies.

Because of load growth, increasing need of transmission capacity and aging of network components, significant investments need to be made in the 110 kV network within the next 10 to 20 years.
At the same time it is necessary to consider whether there should be big changes in the network architecture.

The 110 kV subtransmission network includes double circuit overhead lines, which have high loading in some situations.
To reduce transmission losses and the loading of 110 kV lines, expansion of the 400 kV network has been considered.
If it is necessary to increase transmission capacity, cables need to be used, as it is not possible to build new overhead lines.
When the load is high, 400 kV cables are less expensive that 110 kV cables.

In this thesis different 110 kV and 400 kV networks solutions have been analyzed, so that the future challenges of the transmission network could be solved.
Abstract (fin): Helsingin silmukoitu 110 kV alueverkko koostuu kaapeleista ja avojohdoista.

Samalla on aiheellista pohtia, olisiko verkossa syytä tehdä suuria rakenteellisia muutoksia.

110 kV alueverkossa on ns. runkojohtoina kaksoisavojohtoja, joiden kuormitus on joissakin tilanteissa korkea.
Suuritehoiset kaapeliyhteydet on edullisempi toteuttaa 400 kV jännitetasolla.

Tässä työssä on analysoitu erilaisia 110 kV ja 400 kV verkkoratkaisuja, joilla Helsingin alueen sähkönsiirtoverkon tulevaisuuden haasteista voitaisiin selviytyä.
