Abstract (eng):In this thesis we present a multicast system for challenged networks.
Challenged networks include networks used in crisis operation areas as well as networks intended for official government use.
A typical challenged network is composed of an especially weakly connected edge network, while offering a better connectivity in the core network.
Additionally, the nodes of the network are typically in continuous movement, especially in the edge of the network.

The multicast system was implemented as part of MICS (Multi Interface Communications Software), which is a messaging system designed for challenged networks.
We study the MICS-system's architecture in order to defer the best ways to implement the multicast system into MICS, taking into account the existing components.

A special test system was implemented to test the implementation.
The test results show that the multicast system is able to offer a functioning multicast service as part of the MICS-system.
The multicast system should, however, be developed further as MICS-system evolves.
Abstract (fin):Tässä työssä esitetään monilähetysjärjestelmä erityisvälitysverkoille.

Multi Interface Communications Software).
Työssä käydään läpi MICS-järjestelmän arkkitehtuuria, sekä arvioidaan miten monilähetyspalvelu on järkevintä toteuttaa MICS-järjestelmään, ottaen huomioon järjestelmän olemassa olevat komponentit.

Toteutus testattiin työtä varten toteutetulla testausjärjestelmällä.
Testien tuloksena voidaan todeta, että toteutettu monilähetysjärjestelmä kykenee toteuttamaan toimivan monilähetyspalvelun MICS-järjestelmään.
Monilähetyspalvelua kannattaa kuitenkin kehittää edelleen MICS-järjestelmän keskeisten komponenttien kehittyessä pidemmälle.
