Abstract (eng): The aim of this thesis was to identify the actual renewal and repair ages of bridge structures in four Nordic countries.
When planning the future repairs for the bridge it is important to know the optimal age for the repairs.
Repair and renewal ages are need when planning the effective life cycle of the whole bridge.

The literature part of the thesis is dealing with bridge stocks, bridge management systems and bridge inspections in Nordic countries.
In all Nordic countries the bridge stocks are very similar.
All countries have their own bridge management systems and bridge inspection methods but they do not differ significantly from each other.

The purpose of the work was to find out the actual repair intervals of bridge structures from each countries bridge register.
The chosen structural parts were: edge beam, surface structure of bridge, bridge railings, bearings, expansion joints together with repainting of steel structures and repairing the concrete coating.
In addition to that, effects of traffic volume and weather conditions for the repair and renewal ages were also studied.

The results were surprising as weather conditions, traffic volumes and de-icing did not make that much difference to the durability of structures.
Also the conducted renewal ages of the bridge structures were longer than excepted.
Abstract (fin): Tässä diplomityössä oli tarkoitus selvittää siltojen rakenneosien todelliset korjaus- ja käyttöiät Pohjoismaissa.
Suunniteltaessa sillan tulevia korjauksia on tärkeää tietää rakenteiden optimaalisin korjausikä.
