Abstract (eng): The Q factor or quality factor is an important characterization of an antenna.
The theory on Q of small antenna was originally conceived by L.J Chu as early as 1940, but it has been changing with time, it was revised by Collin, Fante, and Mclean in the 1960s to 1990s and recently by Yaghjian, Gustafsson, Thal and Best in the 2000s.
There have been attempts to recently to determine the relationship between Q and the frequency bandwidth of an antenna.

The relation between the realized Q and the minimum Q describes how efficiently an antenna uses its volume.
The exact Q of an antenna can be determined by either from the electromagnetic fields produced by the antenna, or from the impedance of the antenna.
The Minimum Q can be calculated directly from the dimensions of the antenna.

In this thesis work, a literature survey on the different methods used in the determining the exact Q and minimum Q is made.
Abstract (fin): Hyvyysluku eli Q-arvo on antennin tärkeä ominaisuus.
Teorian pienten antennien Q-arvoista kehitti alun perin L.J.
