Abstract (eng): | The purpose of this thesis is to develop a periodical inspection equipment requirements based on new Directive 2010/48/EU on the commission by the Finnish Transport Safety Agency. The thesis explains the development of periodical inspections and views the current market situation. New technical requirements will be discussed and explained as well the current situation in inspection stations. Current market situation of equipment meeting new technical requirements will be researched. Process of implementing the directive 20 1 0/48/EU in chosen EU countries will be researched to find out general view for challenges and possibilities. The work also touches on challenges for periodical inspection by development of vehicle technology. The result of the studies leads to propose similar equipment requirements than in Germany. This will ensure that the standards of the directive 2010/48/EU are met and the devices of Central European market are suited directly for inspection stations in Finland. The thesis concludes recommend further research for periodical inspection of hybrid and electric vehicles. |
