Abstract (eng):Innosteel factory mc. (ISF) is a company working in the field of metal industry. The aim of this thesis was to develop service offering in the area of product development and production development. The service offering should meet the customer needs and support the business concept of the company. The services should also be profitable enough to cover the expenses and to develop ISF's own expertise.

Today product development is done by networks instead of single companies. This gives an opportunity and needs for new kind of services and in other hand it requires new ways to work and control a development project. To make product development easier to control and transparent to each actor a process map is needed. The process map should be adaptive to customer processes and accepted by customers.

Customer needs essentially guides the company business. The whole picture of the customer needs is build up by marketing and introducing ISF services to potential customers during the last year. To get feedback and support for the conclusions and ideas, a few people from the companies which are familiar with the ISF concept were selected to give their opinions regarding their needs and recommendations to ISF future.

As a result of this thesis ISF product development process was defined and ISF target service offering was build up inside of that. The main conclusion which is based on the customer needs is that many of these needs are related to earlier stages in the product development process.
Abstract (fin):Innosteel factory Oy:n (ISF) toiminta-ajatus on tukea kone- ja metallituoteteollisuuden yritysten toimintaedellytyksiä tuottamalla asiakastarpeen mukaisia palveluja.

Kokonaiskäsitys asiakastarpeesta on muodostettu noin vuoden ajan kerätystä aineistosta asiakastapaamisten yhteydessä.

Tuoteprosessiin liitettiin palveluja eri vaiheisiin muodostaen tuotteen kehityskaarta mukailevan kokonaisuuden.
